**Update - To get Lino's slides from the Sitefinity and Beyond performance session go here.
Today, Falafel Software CEO Lino Tadros is speaking at the Sitefinity and Beyond Conference in Boston, but that is only a part of our big Sitefinity news.
Customers tend to approach Falafel for the hard stuff. Performance problems, integrations, custom modules, often much more than just a pretty user interface. Having consulted on over 100 of these complex Sitefinity solutions, Lino is well suited to deliver the talk on “Deploying High Performing and Scalable Web Solutions”, but it’s his energy and comedic style that will leave a lasting impression. If you haven’t seen him speak before, this is not something you will want to miss. It is sure to be both educational and entertaining. (Edutaining?)
During Lino’s talk, he is almost certainly going to let the cat out of the bag on what the Falafel Sitefinity team has been up to. So if you can’t make his talk, here is what has everyone at Falafel Software so excited:
First, the Falafel Sitefinity Hub for Windows 8. That’s right, Windows 8 is officially still a week away, but internally we’ve been using our own homegrown, “formerly known as metro” app to manage our Sitefinity sites. The “Hub’s” convenient color-coded tile interface displays all the information we need at-a-glance, while simplifying access to the administration functions. One of our favorite features is the ability to select a group of blog comments and quickly approve or mark them all as spam with a single tap. Thinking many Sitefinity users out there would appreciate the app, we decided to make it publicly available. The app has already “RTM’ed” so to speak, and has been submitted to the Windows 8 store. It should be available for free in the next few days. (It might also be worth pointing out that the app makes great use of Telerik’s RadControls for Windows 8. Thanks Telerik!)
The other big Sitefinity item has more of a tropical theme. In June, Falafel will be invading Hawaii and we want you to join us. So, we’re planning on offering a 2-day technical conference at the Grand Wailea resort on Maui. There will be a detailed Sitefinity development track, but to deliver the best experience possible we need your help. Whether you think you will attend or not, please take 30 seconds to complete our online conference survey. We promise to make it worth your while, in fact, we’ll give you the Falafel ListBrowser widget just for filling it out.
