Today is an exciting day for me: My first blog as a member of the excellent team at Falafel Software, a Falafel Mobile application hits the Android Market, and Steve Jobs even further solidifies my belief that mobile devices are now ready to handle the feature-rich, demanding business applications that Falafel Software will be delivering to our Enterprise Customers.
Falafel 2 Go
Falafel Software is pleased to announce that the Falafel 2 Go mobile application is now available in the Android Market. Falafel 2 Go begins its’ life as a simple mobile application which allows users to view our upcoming training offerings, read our expert’s Blogs about .NET, Silverlight, Mobile development, and other topics, and quickly view Falafel’s recent Twitter Tweets. Of course we will add other new, cool, and useful features in the future - however features are not what excites me the most… With an app like Falafel 2 Go, customers can be reading one of our detailed Blogs, or figuring out which course they want to attend, in about 3-5 seconds with only 2 or 3 quick touches of the screen, from anywhere! I find this simply amazing and unrivalled by modern desktop solutions. My mind boggles when I think about the enhanced productivity we will be able to bring to our customers mobile workforces.
iPhone 4
Most of you probably know that Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone 4 (and renamed iOS 4) at the Apple WWDC this morning. I am not going to go into all of the features as you are currently able to read about those all over the Internet, and this is not meant to be a review of a specific device. However, the takeaway for me is the vision into the times to come Forget that, they are already here! With improved CPU, storage, battery life, and ridiculous video processing capabilities, these devices are ready to run serious enterprise business applications. The competition is on, and with hardware running Google’s Android and Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 sure to follow suit, the creative solutions we are able to offer our customers is unlimited.
Falafel Mobile
I think my message is pretty clear, but just in case, let me be more direct:
“Falafel Software is expanding our focus into the mobile development arena.”
This is not completely new, at Falafel we have already designed, developed and deployed successful mobile applications for our customers. However, we are now ready to expand our mobile offerings to the full suite of services that have made us so successful in the Desktop, Server, and Web applications arena. Our job is to make our clients businesses and development teams more productive and efficient, and we believe that adding mobile solutions to our portfolio will allow us to achieve this goal. We will be focusing on developing business applications, training, and consulting for the Android, iPhone/iPad, and Windows Phone 7 platforms.
Stay tuned for updates and new platforms for Falafel 2 Go, and other exciting news from Falafel Mobile.
Bye for now, I am off to read my first ever Falafel Blog on my Smartphone!
