SAN JOSE, CA—Falafel Software is taking project management productivity to the next level with the release of ActiveFocus 2008, Friday, Feb. 22, 2008.

ActiveFocus is a Web-based project management application that unites project teams for peak performance whether they are located in the same office or across the world. The application, which is scalable and can be tailored to any business model, provides a complete overview of each project and enables teams to capture all the details that are important to them.

“Falafel Software understands how important productivity and team collaboration are to the bottom line. We created ActiveFocus to fill the gaps left by other productivity management applications. ActiveFocus is responsive, intuitive, and covers every important aspect of project management that a team needs to succeed with even the most complex of projects. You’ll be amazed to realize that ActiveFocus is actually running in a browser!” Falafel Software architect Adam Markowitz said.

ActiveFocus already is in use at one of the largest organic food companies in the world.

Earthbound Farm, located in Carmel Valley, CA, uses ActiveFocus to keep track of the company’s large in-house software development project. The company also uses ActiveFocus for other non software development projects such as tracking requirements for software purchase decisions and organizing customer-mandated B2B projects.

“Since installing ActiveFocus, stakeholders can easily see the current status of each project. Dashboards help project managers keep tabs on which business areas are experiencing the most system defects or originating the most change requests. Helpdesk tickets are converted into ActiveFocus requirements and change requests so all of our current and future planned development tasks are described and stored in one shared location,” Alex Brinsmead, senior software development manager at Earthbound Farm, said.

ActiveFocus makes use of Microsoft ASP.NET 3.5, AJAX, and the latest suite of Telerik RadControls.

“Microsoft is pleased that Falafel Software has delivered a management productivity tool using ASP.NET. Web-based applications often offer the customer a fast, efficient way to keep business models operating smoothly,” Brian Goldfarb, group product manager in the Developer Platform & Tools Team at Microsoft Corp., said.
